Area travelers are bracing for a busy Thanksgiving weekend filled with food, family, and frustrating travel conditions.
CBS2’s Meg Baker spoke with people at Newark Liberty International Airport who weren’t taking any chances.
"We came early, we’re three hours early just in case," said Allison Jankunas of North Arlington, N.J.
Gail and John Hermann left a day earlier than normal and plan on coming back Saturday instead of Sunday to avoid the busiest times.
Luckily for anybody else planning on traveling through Newark Airport this week, security lines are getting a much needed boost just before the busy holiday.

How United Airlines Aims to Light up New Polaris Lounge at O'Hare Airport
If you're starting to wonder what United Airlines' new Polaris lounge experience at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport will look like, wonder no more. The airline hopes to instill a sense of wonder in travelers visiting the lounge.
That sense will be stimulated big time when visitors enter the Polaris lounge and gaze upon a new light fixture/sculpture that will be a centerpiece of the plush new facility.
Titled "North Star Chicago," the sculpture was created by artist Wolfgang Buttress specifically for the Chicago Polaris lounge, the first in a series of lounges that will open at United hubs in New York/Newark, San Francisco, Houston, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C.; London, Tokyo, and Hong Kong over the course of the next two years.

Convenience, Experiences Enhance Brand Loyalty Programs
Loyalty members at some hotel brands are using their points for more than roomnights and free Wi-Fi.
Programs that offer options for redeeming rewards outside of the hotel, sources said, are becoming more popular. Many of those options are tied to unique experiences; others are all about convenience.
Through its Club Carlson program, Carlson Rezidor allows members at any tier to use points to cover the cost of TSA Precheck at airports.
Teresa Comparato, senior director of customer engagement and loyalty at Carlson Rezidor, said 65,000 loyalty club points are required for a TSA Precheck request.
